Jo Holdsworth, Riverside Walk

Jo Holdsworth is a London-based artist who is inspired by the capital’s ever-changing landscape. Her remarkable paintings depict striking figures within urban environments in which Jo is particularly drawn to the individual in the crowd and the relationships between each person and the space that they occupy.

Jo is heavily influenced by photography and several commentators have also referred to the cinematic nature of Jo’s work which harnesses a modernist approach to form, combining a subtle colour palette with loose, spontaneous brushwork. Jo’s work is collected both nationally and internationally and she regularly undertakes commissions.

“Her work evokes, with uncanny semblance, the comings and goings of everyday life. With seemingly effortless brush strokes and a limited colour palette, she crafts an artistic window into quintessentially British scenes” Arts & Collections
